World-class Research and Technology for People and Society PLIMES Inc. is a university spin-off company established in April 2018 to bridge the gap between academic research and market application. The company stems from groundbreaking achievements at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the Center for Cybernics Research, and the Center for Innovative Medicine and Engineering at the University of Tsukuba. As a mission-driven organization, PLIMES Inc. is dedicated to addressing societal challenges by enhancing user experiences and fostering meaningful social interactions for individuals with special needs. Backed by funding from the Japan Science and Technology Agency, we are focused on commercializing a wearable device designed to monitor swallowing, a technology developed over more than a decade of intensive research.
